Q: I've hooked the FM-02 up, but I can't get any reception. What's wrong? A: First make sure that all the cables are securely tightened, and that the AC adapter is plugged into a live AC outlet and that the connector side is plugged into the amplifier module. Note the signal direction on the amplifier, and make sure it is installed correctly to your stereo or radio. The blue LED light strip should illuminate if the power is connected and the gain adjust switch on the right side of the unit is turned on.
Q: What's the knob on the unit, and how do I use it? A: The knob is a gain adjustment for the amplifier. It acts much like a volume control, but basically increases the signal from the antenna element so your stereo or radio can receive the broadcast reliably. Once the antenna is placed where you want it, simply increase the knob from the 'MIN' position towards the ‘MAX’ position until the quality of the station is clear to you.
Q: What's the 300 Ohm transformer user for? A: Some stereos do not have a threaded coaxial 75 Ohm connector for the antenna input, but instead, have a 2 terminal 300 Ohm input. The 300 Ohm transformer is used between your stereo and the FM-02 cable in order to match the impedance to minimize signal loss.
Q: I have everything hooked up, and the power is on, but why can't I get any stations? A: The first thing to check is whether your RF cable is connected correctly. Make sure that both ends are attached securely. Reception in different geographic areas will vary. If you have moved the location of your antenna, you may need to perform a rescan on your tuner or TV. If you are still experiencing problems, please go to our troubleshooting guide by clicking here.
Q: I have completed the scan on my tuner. Why am I getting a snowy picture? A: A snowy picture is an indication that you tuner input is set to Analog or Cable input. This is not the correct setting to receive digital broadcasts. On your TV setup, you want to make sure you select the input configuration for an external antenna and then run the scan process again. If you are still experiencing problems, please go to our troubleshooting guide by clicking here.
Q: Can the USB/mini USB cable be used for other devices? A: The cable supplied is for power only, so it does not have any data lines. Therefore, it will not work with other devices other than to power them.
Q: What kind of batteries can I use in the PowerHD 100? A: You can use any AA form factor batteries, whether Alkaline, NiMH or Lithium rechargeable. If you use rechargeable batteries, you must use a separate charger. Note that you do not need to use batteries if you are powering via the USB cable from your laptop or the AC adapter.
Q: I've installed the batteries, but when I turn on the power, the LED does not come on? A: Make sure the batteries are new and AA type. Check the orientation of the batteries as shown in the battery compartment, as one or both may be backwards. The unit will only function properly if the batteries are installed correctly.
Q: What stations are available in my area? A: For a list of stations being broadcast in your area and program schedule information, please go to www.titantv.com.
If you are currently using an analog television, any remaining broadcast stations will disappear on June 12, 2009.
